MEET THE OWNERS

Hi, I’m Aerin Thomson.

I'm a skilled drafter with in-depth knowledge of the lighting world and a sincere passion for design. I specialize in lighting design, focusing on electrical blueprints, layouts, 3D renderings, and photometric analyses.

I live in the beautiful countryside with my wonderful husband, our two energetic boys, and our trio of furry companions—a German Shorthaired Pointer, a Labrador mix, and a Heeler. Life here is a blend of outdoor adventures and balancing the best of both country and city living.

My journey into lighting design began after earning a degree in Engineering Graphics from York Technical College, following a Bachelor of Arts from Lander University. Starting as an intern with a lighting and controls manufacturers rep, I quickly turned my passion into a full-time career. I’ve been fortunate to meet incredible people along the way, and this "world" continues to inspire me every day.

I’m a firm believer in teamwork, professionalism, and the power of collaboration. Whether working with architects, engineers, contractors, lighting reps, or designers, I thrive on creating successful projects through strong partnerships. Let's light up the world together!

Hi, I’m Ann Watson.

I bring extensive expertise in electrical distribution's technical aspects and lighting design's creative nuances. With a Lighting Certification (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for Lighting Professionals (NCQLP), I established a specialized specification sales design studio within the lighting agency model.

Ann and her husband call South Carolina home, living in a “house divided,” where the friendly rivalry between their daughter, a proud USC Gamecock, and their son, a loyal Clemson Tiger, is always in full swing. While the college football drama keeps things lively, their true passion lies in spending time together outdoors. When they're not cheering on their respective teams, you’ll find them enjoying the crisp air and wide-open fields, bird hunting with their loyal black lab, Boone.

As a CREW Upstate South Carolina member, I actively engage in the commercial real estate community, building valuable connections and staying informed about the latest industry trends. I am also a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), which reflects my commitment to advancing the field of lighting design.

OUR PURPOSE

Lighting is all about how we perceive our surroundings. It enhances our awareness of color and space, and each electric light source brings its own unique color and intensity, which can significantly influence our mood. Good lighting design is about meeting the visual needs of the people in a space, making it feel inviting and comfortable. It’s also about creating beautiful lighting effects without drawing attention to the light source itself.

Beyond aesthetics, lighting design plays a crucial role in energy efficiency and control. It involves integrating elements like daylighting, glare reduction, motion sensors, switching and dimming options, and color rendering (CRI). Lighting design layers these elements to create a harmonious environment.

During the day, natural light is the primary focus, with electric light gradually taking over as night falls. But the purpose of electric lighting goes beyond decoration—it’s essential for safety as well. Whether indoors or outdoors, a well-designed space must be comfortable under both normal and emergency conditions. That’s why lighting is a 24-hour consideration on any project!
